Steps To Getting Subtitles For Kodi From OpenSubtitles

Step 1: First thing you have to do is to register for a free account on https://www.opensubtitles.org. You will find a link on the top section of the site saying “Register”.

Enter your details for creating a new account by following the instructions and you are all set to access the subtitles from Opensubtitles.

Step 2: After that come back to your Kodi, open Kodi addons > addons browser (package installer).

Step 3: Now, click on the Install from repository section inside the addons browser.

Step 4: After that on the next screen, select the “Kodi Add-on Repository” inside the list.

Step 5: Now, after entering inside the Kodi Add-on Repository, scroll and find the “Subtitles” inside it.

Step 6: Now, select OpenSubtitles from the list inside the Subtitles.

Step 7: You will see the OpenSubtitles installation screen. Click on Install to add the add-on on Kodi.

Step 8: Wait until you see the notification on your upper right screen of Kodi. It will take only a few seconds (depending on your internet connection).

Step 9: Now, Select Configure after opening Opensubtitles again.

Step 10: You will see two option for Username and Password, enter the credentials of your account which you just set up on the official Opensubtitles site. Select OK after entering the credentials.

Step 11: Now, select settings from the home screen of Kodi.

Step 12: Open Player Settings from the System screen.

Step 13: Inside the Player settings, select language from the left sidebar.

Step 14: Now, select the  ‘Languages to download subtitles for’ from the Download services section on the right screen. And choose your preferred language for downloading the subtitles.

Step 15: Down to that, you will see “Default TV Show Service”, select it to configure subtitles for TV Shows.

Step 16: Now, you will see multiple options depending on the services you have downloaded. Select OpenSubtitles from the list which we just installed on Step 7.

Step 17: Repeat the same steps, with Movies section as well.

We know that Opensubtitles is far better when it comes to subtitles. But if you want another quick way for setting up subtitles on Kodi, Subscene can do the task without any registration, straight from your Kodi settings.

Although Subscene doesn’t have a database as big as Opensubtitles, it can do the task fairly without any registration.

Step 1: Open the settings from the Home screen of your Kodi.

Step 2: On the next screen, select Player Settings.

Step 3: Now, select the language section from left sidebar just like we did for Opensubtitles.

Step 4: After that from Download Services section on the right side, select your preferred language from the first option.

Step 5: Now, select the Default TV Show Service for setting SubScene with your TV Shows.

Step 6: On the next screen, you will see the list of subtitle service, select Get More from the right-hand side. Now, choose Subscene from the list to download it.

If you have already downloaded it, you can directly select it without going into “Get more” section.

Step 7: Now, do the same for choosing Subscene for your Movies section.

By these steps, you can easily set up your Kodi Subtitles with Subscene.

Note: You can always switch between different subtitle services while playing any Movie or TV show from the subtitle option.
